Kassel offers high-class arts and multifaceted cultural events not only in times of the well-known Documenta exhibitions. Main attraction are undoubtedly the castle grounds (“Schlosspark”) of Wilhelmshöhe, Europe’s largest park in hilly landscape. By order of the local landgraves and electors famous master builders, landscape gardeners and foremost sculptors created a cultural world heritage site over the centuries.
From the Kurparkhotel it takes only a few steps to get into another world. Go on expedition through the picturesque Galery of Old Masters (“Galerie Alte Meister”). Find your way into the castle of Wilhelmshöhe and its history of art exhibitions, or visit the collection of knightly arms and armor in the Löwenburg. Promenade in the baroque and spacious
park with its special plants, sequoia trees and the
mythical charm of the ancient devil’s bridge
(“Teufelsbrücke”). Take a stroll through the temples,
grottos and pavilions or many other spots facing the
light and water arts.
And last but not least: enjoy the terrific view from the
octagonal base platform of the Herkules over the city
of Kassel – and come home in the evening, to your
Kurparkhotel Wilhelmshöhe.
We look forward to seeing you.
